Today we saw more of the beautiful country…
We also explored the Cliff Palace at Mesa Verda National Park.
The Cliff Palace at Mesa Verda was home to the Pueblo people…
The Cliff Palace is built into, you guessed it, the side of a cliff, and it has 150 individual rooms and more than 20 kivas.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Kivas, Kivas are rooms used for religious rituals. They are also the circular rooms you see in the photos above. Are you ready for another interesting fact? The temperature inside of these Kivas remains 50 degrees year around, which means they stay cool in the summer, and are very easy to warm with just a simple fire in the winter…how cool is that!
Ok well, that’s all for now. Good night to all my pawsome friends and fans from Moab, Utah!
